Got Arizona Pool Calcium Scale?

Pool Scale is caused by an over-saturation of either calcium carbonate or calcium silicate in the water. When the calcium falls out of solution the unwanted build-up results in a white ring around your pool at the water line. Calcium carbonate is flakey white and fairly easy to remove. However, Calcium silicate which is more a whiteish grey is very difficult to remove. Once this ring appears dirt, grime, oils, stains and chemical residues can all contribute to it.

Which blasting media is best for my pool?

Glass Media

Ultra fine man-made recycled glass (consistency close to powdered sugar) is shot at low pressure to clean the scale from your pool. Glass is the preferred media for Pebble Tec pools, natural rock, flagstone and brick. Fine glass works excellent on tile with a matte finish and won't cause damage commonly believed.  Glass cleans up very easy, won't affect the balance of the water and your pool is ready for immediate use.

Salt can safely be used on these surfaces as well however may have a less effective cleaning result.

Be aware that some companies using high-pressure water blasting equipment on Pebble Tec can blow the pebbles right off your pool surface.

Salt

Maxxstrip brand (Kieserite-a natural mineral similar to Epsom salt) the newest media for pools is also shot at low pressure.  Salt is the preferred media for use on delicate tile, glass, granite and marble.  Tile with a high gloss or shine should only be cleaned with salt.

Most Pool tiles have a Mohs hardness rating of 7.  Calcium has a rating of 3 and Kieserite is popular because its Mohs hardness rating is 3.5.  Kieserite is just a bit harder than the scale and much softer than your tile. In addition, it's all natural, pH-neutral and biodegradable.  It won’t harm your family, pets, or plants.

*Kieserite is water soluble, mild cloudiness is normal and will disappear in 1-2 cycles of your pool system.

Ecoblast Process

In most cases we can lower your pools water level just enough to reveal the pool scale and deposits on your surface line. This conserves your water and keeps your pool swim ready once we’re finished.

With the pool scale exposed, we will begin the pool cleaning process with equipment that has been specifically designed for swimming pool calcium removal.  Compressed air is shot at low pressure applying safe eco-friendly cleaning medias only to the problem areas.

We will vacuum out your pool with our equipment removing the excess cleaning media and calcium debris.  The patio will be hosed down and we will leave your pool area renewed and clean.
